SIR JOSEPH WARD
NO IMPROVEMENT. CONDITION WEAKER. (Per United Press Association.) Rotorua, May 30. Sir Joseph Ward’s condition shows no improvement this afternoon. 'lt is reported he was slightly weaker. His medical attendant will issue a bulletin to-morrow. APPRECIATION OF SERVICES. At yesterday’s meeting of the Southland Education Board reference was made to the state of Sir Joseph Ward’s health and a resolution expressing appreciation of his services to the Dominion and Empire and regret at his serious illness was carried. The chairman (Mr A. W. Jones) spoke briefly of the leading part Sir Joseph Ward had played in Dominion and Imperial affairs. Major Rice said that, although politically opposed to Sir Joseph Ward, he was very willing to support the motion. To him the outstanding feature of Sir Joseph’s career was his great Imperialism. Messrs W. Carswell, G. Johnson and L. Evans also spoke eulogizing Sir Joseph’s services.
