ITALIAN PROTEST
TRADE TREATY WITH AUSTRALIA.

Rome, May 29. The Italian Government has instructed its Canberra representative to denounce the proposed trade treaty and also to join with other representatives in a general protest. Italy plans to treat butter from Australia like Australia treats cheese from Italy. Officials estimate that the proposed treaty will cause a decline of 40 per cent, in Italian exports to Australia.
