CHANNEL TUNNEL
OPPOSITION TO SCHEME.
(United Press Assn.—-By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) London, May 30. The Committee of Imperial Defence has again decided against the Channel tunnel. The Air force particularly opposes it on the ground that it would mean additional strategic points to be guarded in war time. Cabinet has a deciding voice, but the Daily Herald’s lobbyist will not be surprised if the scheme is rejected.
