TREAT FOR CRICKETERS.

Sydney, May 13. The generosity of Mr L. A. W. Pearce, public accountant, will enable the New South Wales members of the Australian XI. to speak to their families on Thursday by wireless telephone. Mr R. L. Jones, State selector, is making the preliminary arrangements, and already telegrams, conveying the good news, have been sent to the homes of Bradman, Jackson, and McCabe. Mrs Fairfax, Mrs Kippax, and Mrs Oldfield will also be guests of Mr Pearce. Mr, Jones stated this morning that the call would be made between 4.30 pan. and 5.30 p.m., whenever the reception was best. A cable message notifying the cricketers of the treat in store for them has been sent, pending the completion of the arrangements.
