CHARGE WITHDRAWN

ALLEGED THEFT OF CUTTER.

Auckland, Maj- 29.

The charge against Hugh Eugene Fischer of stealing the cutter Maroro which was wrecked on the Samoa coast was withdrawn to-day. Fischer, was arrested at Dunedin on April 21 on arrival with his family by the Maui Pomare from the Islands and had been remanded several times since on bail. The prosecution vjas a "private one initiated by the Maroro’s owner.
