TWO MEN ON A RAFT

RAPIDLY BORNE SEAWARD. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Sydney, May 29; The steamer Favourite, carrying 150 passengers, ran aground at Botany Bay during her usual mid-week excursion. Two of the crew set out on a raft to secure assistance, but were soon in difficulties, and when last seen in the early hours of the morning they were being rapidly borne seaward. Meanwhile, the passengers on the Favourite were taken ashore in launches. BOTH MEN RESCUED. (Rec. 9.10 p.m.) Sydney, May 29. Frank Riordan and John Bolton, who were swept to sea on a raft after the grounding of the excursion steamer Favourite, were rescued little worse of their trying experience among sharks and wet through by spray.
