ECONOMIC RELATIONS
BRITAIN'AND DOMINIONS
FULL DEVELOPMENT URGED.
(United Press Assn.- By Telegraph—Copyright.)
London, May 28.
The Daily Mail says that the Economic Committee of the General Council of the Trade Union Congress has drawn up a remarkable report urging that it would be in the interests of the trade union movement for the Labour Party at the Imperial Conference to press for the fullest possible development of economic relations between Britain and the dominions, including the creation of machinery and agreements with the dominions for a further development of inter-commonwealth trade.
The committee explains that among the factors favouring the establishment of a British Commonwealth economic group is the fact that supplies of raw material and manufactured goods could be balanced and there is an abundance of opportunity for movements of the population within.
COMMISSION SUGGESTED.
London, May 28
The Chambers of Commerce Congress resolved to call on the governments of the Empire to formulate an economic policy of closer co-operation and to appoint a commission on which there should be business and economic experts to draw up a scheme for such co-operation.
