GERMAN DIRIGIBLE GREAT INTEREST AT RIO DE JANEIRO MANY DISAPPOINTED (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph-Copyright) New York, May 25. The Graf Zeppelin is expected to arrive at Pernambuco early on Monday morning. After leaving Rio de Janeiro at 6.52 a.m. (New York standard, time) she has been reported regularly along the northward course. Considerable criticism was heard at Rio de Janeiro concerning Dr. Eckener’s appar-> ent change of plans, causing thousands of anxious watchers to miss seeing the dirigible, which arrived over the outskirts of the city early in the morning, but instead of landing, proceeded southward to Santos. Crowds left their points of vantage and returned home disappointed, whereupon the Graf Zeppelin returned and landed at the Campo Affonsos aerodrome at 5.5 a.m. for a brief stop. She landed without any trouble, despite the unfamiliarity of the ground crew with so large an airship. PROGRESS OF AIRSHIP PROGRAMME FOR FUTURE. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rio de Janeiro, May 25. The Graf Zeppelin passed over Victoria in the State of Espirito Santo at 4.40 p.m., flew seaward and passed the steamship Almirante Jacequay. A message from New Y’ork states that the dirigible Los Angeles will on Monday test a mooring mast for the Graf Zeppelin. The mast is mounted on three heavy caterpillar rollers drawn by a tractor and can be taken into the hangar with the airship attached. Mr F. W. von Meister, the American Zeppelin representative, stated on his return to Friedrichshafen that the Graf Zeppelin would commence an extensive series of trail blazing flights, going to the Arctic circle thrice this summer, visiting Tromsoe, Iceland, and Spitzbergen, and would make several trips to the Mediterranean, Baltic and other points, carrying tourists. BOUND FOR PERNAMBUCO. (Rec. 10.25 p.m.) Rio de Janeiro, May 26. After paying a short visit here the Graf Zeppelin started the return journey to Pernambuco on Sunday.
