DRIVER OF MOTOR CAR. SEQUEL TO FATALITY. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, May 26. Following a verdict of death due to a fracture of the skull and a haemorrhage of the brain sustained in a fatality in Ponsonby road on Saturday, May 17, Andrew Smith, fish curer, 38 years of age, was committed to the Supreme Court to-day for trial on a charge of negligent driving, causing death. The victim of the accident was William John Humby, aged 67, who was knocked down by accused’s car. Accused was allowed bail in £5OO.
