WINTON SCHOOL

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS CONCLUDED. GRAND JUBILEE BALL. (From Our Correspondent.) i A fitting conclusion to the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Winton School was the Grand Jubilee Ball, held in the Winton School on Thursday evening. The Buildings were specially illuminated for the occasion, and an attendance of close on 500 thoroughly enjoyed the new and old time dances. The Grand Parade was led by the president of the Ex-Pupils’ Association, Mr J. P. McWilliam, accompanied by -his wife. Excellent music was provided by Mrs McArthur’s Orchestra. It was noticed that the old time dances proved very interesting to the younger generation, and at times the floor was overcrowded by this circle of people. Supper was provided, this being partaken of in the Manual Training Department, the catering being in the hands of Mrs W. Gill. The Jubilee Ball will long be remembered by old and young alike, as a fitting conclusion, to a week of successful functions in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of the Winton School.
