MEETING OF BOARD. A meeting of the High Schools Board was held last evening when there were present: Messrs R. M. Strang, John Gilkison, F. G. Stevenson, A. W. Jones, J. 1. Carswell, J. D. Campbell and the secretary (Mr R. Brownlie). The order paper was a very brief one and the business of the meeting was quickly disposed of. The question of repairing the cottage at the rear of the girls’ hostel, to admit of it being used by the caretaker, was discussed. The chairman reported that a bath and necessary fittings would cost about £B4 and there was painting, papering and some repairs which would cost about £72 in addition. It was considered that about £4O a year would be saved by providing a residence for the caretaker. It was decided,to- advertise the position of caretaker at a salary of £2OO per annum with the cottage. It was agreed that permission should be requested from the Department for t"he expenditure of £156 on repairs of the cottage. . Miss Samuel was granted leave of absence on account of illness.
