RIMUTAKA DEVIATION.
(Per United Press Association.)
Masterton, May 23.
The Wairarapa Progress League to-day decided to organize a representative deputation from the district local bodies to interview the Government next month and urge that the Rimutaka deviation be put in hand forthwith. It was agreed there were no questions of routes or figures to be discussed, but that the Government should be. asked to do what the former Government had declared to be essential. Members held that the money should be available for this work considering that £1,400,009 was spent last year on unemployment relief.
