Under agreement with the M.C.C., the surplus must be devoted to recompensing the M.C.C. for the payment of the professionals with the team. Those fees totalled £l6OO and £l4OO would be available to meet the fees. But for rain the council would probably have been able to pay the M.C.C. in full and have had £lOOO profit.
