TREATMENT BANNED
TUBERCULOSIS IN GERMANY.

Nineteen infants died and 3" are still suffering at Lubeck after treatment for tuberculosis. The authorities have prohibited the Calmette treatment in Germany, and the Public Prosecutor is examining the records with a view to prosecutions.
, A message dated May 14, stated: Out of the 246 infants at Lubeck (Germany) given Calmette prophylactic treatment against tuberculosis, consisting of germs from tubercular cows in food. when between one and ten days old eight died and 24 are seriously suffering from tuberculosis symptoms. The authorities have ordered a cessation of the treatment and an investigation to discover whether they were given. an overdose which doctors declare is impossible, stating that 400,000 have been successfully treated in England, Austria, and Italy.
