KINGSFORD SMITH'S ATTEMPT.

London, May 21.

Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith states that the Southern Cross resembles a new pin and that her recent overhaul has added seven miles an hour to her speed. She will be ready for the Atlantic flight in three weeks. The second pilot will be van Dyk, a Dutchman, while the wireless operator will be John who accompanied the Canberra when she found the Southern' Cross lost in North-West Australia.
