COAL MINER’S DEATH. (Per United Press Association.) Westport, May 21. At the inquest held at Millerton to-day by Mr E. R. Fox, Coroner, touching the death of Harry Clunie Burt, a brother who was working in the Westport Coal Company’s Mangatina mine with him when the accident happened on Friday said that deceased and himself were engaged filling a box of coal when a piece of coal fell from the lip, hitting his brother on the head and knocking him down, death taking place shortly afterwards. The Coroner returned a verdict that death was due to an accident, no blame being attachable to anyone.
