ESTATE OF SIGNOR CARUSO. Gloria Caruso, daughter of the late Enrico Caruso, the famous operatic tenor, who is now aged 10, has abandoned her claim to two-thirds of her father's fortune. It is now announced that-the decision of the Court of Errors and Appeals of New Jersey awarding her half the estate, in accordance with Italian law, will not be contested further by her gfiardians.' The remainnig half of the estate will be divided equally between Madame Caruso, Gloria’s mother, the tenor’s two sons, Enrico and Rudolpho Caruso, . and his brother, Giovanni Caruso. The estate consisted rpainly of the interest on the royalties on the gramophone records made by the late tenor. These still have an enormous sale, and only last week a new record was added to the catalogue. It was estimated that the royalties to be distributed amounted to £200,000. There has been prolonged litigation, the gramophone companies refusing to accept Italian law as binding. Pending a settlement, Gloria Caruso was awarded an income of £2400 out of the proceeds of the royalties. Gloria Caruso is stated to be giving every promise of having inherited her father’s wonderful vocal powers. -Her mother recently stated that the girl was being carefully trained under the best instructors procurable. Signor Caruso died in Naples in August, 1921,-after having probably- the most spectacular career of any operatic artist. He first appeared at Covent Garden in 1902.
