PRICE OF FERTILISERS
THE RECENT REDUCTION. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, January 19. With reference to Press Association message appearing in yesterday morning’s papers announcing a reduction in the price of fertihsere in Auckland, inquiries made in Wellington indicate that the reduced prices mentioned, viz., 44 to 46 per cent super, £4 17/6, basic super £4 10/ and Nauru Phoephat e £4 10/ , all nett cash on trucks, will apj4y to the whole of the North Island and railage will be charged to the farmer as from the nearest works, Auckland, Wanganui or New Plymouth. These reductions have been made by all tiie fertiliser manufacturers of the North Island and are the result of the recent merger by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd. and Wright, Stephenson and Company for the acquisition of the latter company's Otahuhu works. It is understood that suppliers of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, limited will get a rebate on the above prices. Tits substantial reduction in the North Island prices of fertilisers foreshadows early and substantial reducikms in the South Island.
