Moeraki, Dunedin, January 31. City of Winchester, London, February 15. *At Invercargill wharf. GENERAL NOTES. There were no major shipping movements at the Port yesterday. The Union Steam Ship Company’s, steamer Moeraki (Captain W. Martin) passed through Foveaux Strait about 8 a.m. yesterday on her way from Dunedin to Melbourne direct. Messrs Urwin and Company’s trawler Rita went over to Half Moon Bay yesterday from Bluff. She will be employed in fishing under charge of Mr Tom Bragg. The Kiwitea left Tim ar u at 11.30 pan. on* Tuesday for Oamaru, Dunedin and Bluff. She should arrive here about Saturday morning. The Waihora leaves Dunedin on Tuesday next for Bluff to complete discharge of her Eastern cargo. She is now due here on Wednesday morning. The Kairanga will leave Lyttelton tonight for Bluff direct. She should arrive here about Friday evening and will sail on Saturday for Sydney. The Kurow was expected to leave Wellington yesterday for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due here on Sunday. The Remuera is now due at Bluff about Saturday next. The Canadian Planter, which left Montreal on November 25 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, Bluff and Napier, is due at Auckland to-day, and is scheduled to arrive at Bluff on February 5. Messrs J. G. Ward and Company advise that the Federal steamer Middlesex sails from Liverpool on February 12 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Invercargill cargo will be transhipped from Dunedin. The Calm Is due at Bluff to-day from Port Chalmers, where she has been undergoing overhaul in dock. She will load here for Wellington and Wanganui, via coastal ports. The Moeraki leaves Melbourne on January 26 for Bluff direct. She is due here on January 31 and probably sails for the north on the same day. The City of Yokohama sails from New York on February 1 for New Zealand ports, including Bluff. The vessel is due here about March 30. The Yomah arrived at Auckland from New York on Monday. She should arrive at Bluff on January 27. NEWCASTLE COAL SHIPMENTS. The quantity of coal (including bunkers) shipped at Newcastle during December, 1926, for places beyond the State was 283,292 tons, of which 208,328 tons represented shipments for Commonwealth and New Zealand ports, the remainder being for foreign ports. For the corresponding period in 1925, the total was 347,399 tons. The quantity of coal shipped during the week ended on January 1 for places beyond the State was 83,966 tons, of which 29,107 tons represented shipments for Commonwealth and New Zealand ports, the remainder being for foreign ports.
