RIVERTON v. APARIMA.

The south green presented an animated appearance on Monday evening, when the two local clubs met in a friendly contest. The green was in excellent order, reflecting the greatest of credit on the caretaker. The game resulted in an easy win for Riverton, Aparima not playing up to the usual standard.
At the conclusion, Mr W. S. Hunter, president of the Aparima Club, complimented the winners on their success. Although fairly beaten, the visitors thoroughly enjoyed the game, and he expressed the hope that before the season terminated other contests would be held. Mr A. E. Willett, in reply, said the game had been enjoyed by his club, and mentioned that a return match had been arranged between the two clubs later on in the season, and would take place on the north green. The following is the draw in the semifinal of the championship singles competition to be played on Aparima green: Jones plays Rouse, Fordyce, a bye.
