TRADE DELEGATION
AUSTRALIAN MISSION TO UNITED STATES.
EMPLOYERS AND EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED.
Melbourne, January 18.
The Federal Government has announced the personnel of the Industrial Delegation which is proceeding to the United States. It numbers eight persons, consisting of an equal number of employers’ and employees’ representatives. They will be charged with making a thorough investigation of the methods employed and the working conditions affecting the manufacturing industries of the United States and reporting thereon.
LABOUR DISSATISFIED.
(Rec. 1.25 a.m.) Sydney, January 18. As a result of the refusal of the Federal GoY'ernment to accept nominees of the various Trades Labour Councils throughout the Commonwealth for inclusion in an Industrial delegation to America, a move is to be made t-o induce industrial bodies in that country’ to refuse to recognise the delegation. The Sydney Trades Labour Council repudiated the delegation because that body’s nominee, Jack Garden, was not accepted by the Federal Government.— A. and N.Z.
