GENERAL NOTES.

The Oreti was timed to leave the Invercargill wharf yesterday for Port Craig. There will be considerable movement in the shipping world at Bluff within a few days. Four overseas vessels—Remuera, Waihora, Trelissick and Yomah—are due within a week, as well as a good number of coastal and inter-Colonial boats. The Calm will leave Port Chalmers today for Bluff. She is due to-morrow morning and sails the same day for Wellington and Wanganui, via ports. The Kurow left Auckland on Saturday for Bluff, via ports. She is due here on January 25. The Japanese steamer Saka Maru has been chartered to load hardwood at Bunbury (West Australia) for New Zealand ports. The Waihora is due at Dunedin to-day from Calcutta and other Eastern ports. She will sail about Friday for Bluff to complete discharge. The Sussex is due at Dunedin to-morrow from Calcutta, Penang, Singapore and Samara ng. It is reported that the Tairoa will leave London on February 23 for Auckland, Dunedin, Bluff and Nelson. She is due at Auckland on April 2 and should reach Bluff by about April 18. The Moeraki was timed to leave Port Chalmers at about 5.30 p.m. yesterday for Melbourne direct. The Remuera, from London, via Wellington and Lyttelton, was due at Dunedin yesterday to discharge 2,300 tons of cargo. She will sail for Bluff on Friday to complete discharge. The Huntingdon left Auckland on Saturday for Napier and Gisborne to complete loading. She will sail finally from the, latter port on Januarv 22 for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. The Tekoa was to leave Auckland on Monday for Opua, Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and Wellington to complete loading. The Tekoa is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on January 21 for London, via Panama. The Port Nicholson, from Australian ports to Liverpool, arrived at Dunkirk on January 3, after a fast voyage of 37 days from Sy d noy. The Port Brisbane, from London, left Capetown on December 31, and is due at Melbourne on January 21. H.M.S. Wakakura, the New Zealand Government’s new mine-sweeper, arrived at Auckland on Monday after a voyage of seven months from England. The British Imperial Oil Company’s steamer Anamba arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon. She will discharge 5.000 cases of kerosene, 1,000 cases of benzine and 473 drums of petrol, and leaves for Dunedin to-morrow.
