BOOK WITHDRAWN

EARL KITCHENER’S SECRETARY

ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN GERMAN

(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) London, January 17. Messrs Hutehinson, publishers, have withdrawn from circulation the book in which the author stated that Earl Kitchener’s private secretary was a German, whose efficiency made him indispensable. The publishers find the statement to be untrue, and apologise to the secretary, who is still living.—A. and N.Z.
