Frock with Front at Back

(From Our Correspondent.)

London. The latest house frock has its front at the back.

As an observer said at a mannequin parade yesterday, when one of these new models was being shown, a clever woman might put her last year’s frock on back to front and have it mistaken for a this year’s model. The dressmaker to whom the remark was made smiled wisely. A dress in deep wine colour silk repp was made with the new slit triple skirt, and had the front vent at the back of the bodice. All of which sounds complicated, but is quite simple and effective. The triple slit skirt is very popular at present, consisting of three flounces one above the other, each flounce being slit several times in different places. The back “vent” was of deep cream georgette let into a wide and low-cut decollete and finished with a scarf collar passed twice round the throat and tied in a knot with long ends at the back of the neck. The front of the dress was quite plain, coming up to the shoulders, so that only a rim of the. georgette showed.
