DAIRY PRODUCE
THE LONDON MARKET. WEAKNESS IN DANISH BUTTER PRICES. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, January 17. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following cable from the London office, dated January 14:—■ Butter.—New Zealand salted, finest 174/-; first grade 172/-; unsalted, finest 184/-; first grade 182/-. Stored, best qualities, 164/- to 166/-. The market is still quiet but the position is sound and the consumption normal. Australian, 166/- to 170/-; Argentine 158/- to 163/-; Dutch 186/- to 188/-; Danish 176/- to 178/-. The Danish weakness is considered temporary. Retail prices are unchanged. American stocks are 18,500,0001b5. less than last year and the production 5 per cent to 8 per cent, less but the consumption is good.
Cheese. —New Zealand finest, white 94/-; coloured 95/-; fiirst grade 93/- to 94/-; Canadian 96/- to 98/-. The market is quietly firm, and the forward position is unchanged. Retail prices are unchanged. The board has also received the following cable advice from its agents in Canada, dated January 15:—
