POSSESSION OF OPIUM

AGED CHINESE FINED. (Ifer United Pres Association.) Wellington, January 17. Three men asleep upstairs with opium pipes still warm beside them was the discovery that Sergeant Bonisch and Constable Howe made when they entered Ah Chang’s premises at 6 Haining street to-day. Chang, who is 60 years of age, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to have been found illegally in the possession of opium. He was fined £l5, or three months’ hard labour.
