HERR CURTIS FAILS TO FORM GOVERNMENT. CENTRE PARTY’ REFUSES CO-OPERATION. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, January 14. Herr Curtis failed to form a government, owing to the Centre Party refusing to cooperate with the Nationalists, as they doubted the latter’s sincerity, although a promise had been given that Herr Marx's and Herr Stresemann’s foreign policy would be carried out. There is now a possibility of an election, as there is no likelihood of finding a government commanding a majority in the Reichstag.—A. and N.Z.
