AIRSHIP DESIGN
UNITED STATES INVITES. COMPETITION. (Rec. 7.50 p.m.) Washington, January 16. The Navy Department invited competitive designs for the two rigid airships authorised by Congress in 1926. Designs must be submitted before April 16. If Congress fails to appropriate the money this session, the Navy will, notwithstanding, pay fifty thousand dollars for the winning design.—A. and N.Z.
