ASSESSMENT OF VALUES. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 27. The question of allowance for adverse nr favourable exchange rate in valuing goods for Custom.- duty at New Zealand ports has be<m one of some concern to importers lately.. The Minister of Customs (Sir William Ilerriesi said to-day that there was a decision of the Cabinet to permit of the assessment of the value of goods according to the pre-war parity of the currencies in I the two countries, or according to t lie pre- | sent commercial value of the currencies at ' the Minister’s discretion. The Minister said | that during the present session legislation 1 would be introduced to provide for this. 1
