MAORI CLAIM TO OWNERSHIP. PROPOSALS FOR SETTLEMENT. (Per United Press Association.) ROTORUA, June 23. With reference to the Maori claim to the ownership of the lake beds, the Arawas, through Mr F. Earl, solicitor, have submitted to the Attorney-General proposals for settlement without further Court proceedings. The Minister has replied that he is willing to meet the Arawas with their legal advisers, suggesting November for the meeting.
