A MAIN TRUNK FEEDER. AGITATION AT FOXTON. (Per United Press Association.) FOXTON, June 23. At a meeting of the Borough Council and Chamber of Commerce last night it was decided to urge upon the Government the linking up of the Main Trunk between Marton j or Grcatford and Levin to relieve the con--1 gened traffic at Palmerston and obviate the 'huge expenditure on the Palmerston deviation. , , . It was pointed out that the linking up would shorten the journey between Auckland and Wellington by over an hour, and the saving in haulage alone would pay th« 1 interest on construction. i i t was decided to hold a conference of local bodies to further discuss the matter I a nd in the meantime to communicate with i the Prime Minister and members of Par- | liament.
