Two earthquakes in quick succession, the severest for years, occurred in Los Angeles county. A number of buildings and tall chimneys collapsed at Inglewood. People in restaurants and theatres were seized with panic. No fatalities occurred but many people were injured by tumbling debris. Ihe damage amounts to hundred* of thousands of dollars.
