THE OPAWA
STEERING GEAR DISARRANGED. A TEMPORARY STOPPAGE. The steering gear of the Opawa became disarranged while the vessel was leaving Bluff harbour yesterday afternoon and the steamer lay to off Dog Island while the defects wore remedied. She is expected to sail this morning. There was little harm caused and the passengers evinced little anxiety, the vessel being well handled by the Harbourmaster.
