Totals .. .. 2,117 26,665 27.406 Rales of tallow during May totalled 107 tons. THE INDIAN WHEAT CROP. In a special wheat forecast issued by the Department of Statistics. India, under date of Calcutta, April 22, the total area sown to wheat is given at 29,537,000 acres, as compared wi4.h the revised figure of 23,474,OQO acres at the corresponding time hist year, or an increase of 26 per cent. The total yield is estimated at 9,774,000 tons, as against 7,453,000 tons a year ago, or an increase of 31 per cent. Compared with the final estimate of last year, the anticipated yield shows an increase of 30 per cent. The crop was reported to be in good condition, except in a few localities, where it was affected considerably by frost and rust. LONDON TALLOW SALES. ABANDONED OWING TO POOR DEMAND.
