HELP FOR MOTHERS

WELLINGTON ORGANISATION’S WORK STATE AID SOUGHT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 16. A deputation representing the Mothers’ Help Division of the Wellington Women’s National Reserve waited on the Minister of Internal Affairs to-day. Two helpers had been engaged continuously, and it was now necessary to appoint a third. The funds were almost exhausted. There were many cases where harassed mothers were unable to pay for outside help, and, in such cases the division was doing valuable work. It asked for a subsidy on all subscriptions and earnings in order that the work might be continued and extended. The Minister was sympathetic in his reply. He praised the work of the division, and promised to put the request for a subsidy before his colleagues.
