WHAKATANE HARBOUR

DEEP WATER PORT PROJECTED. (Per United Press Association.) WHAKATANE, June 16. The Harbour Board approved of the report by its engineer, Mr Adams, containing reference to a deep sea Lbrbour scheme. Mt Adams advised the Board to determine its future intentions in order that the present operations may form part of A larger scheme, as he considers that there is a possibility of constructing an inside harbour to accommodate oversea vessels. The Board resolved to promote an Empowering Bill to enable it to borrow £175,000.
