OAMARU MARKETS. OAMARU, June 14. The wheat season is now practically at an end. So far as can be ascertained only a few lots remain to be handled. A lew transactions are reported to have been completed during the past week. These in the main consisted ol smalt lots, but mciudeu one line ot 500 sacks of lledchatf.

Oats are a shade easier, with very little inclination on the part of merchants to buy. Only a small amount ol business was done during the week. A grade Oartons being dealt in at 5/- and B’s at 4/11, both net at country stations.

The lirst of the season’s cowgrass seed has come on the market, several samples oi farmers’ dressed having been submitted, but only one sale is reported. In this case the parcel was taken at a country station lat 2/- less commission, but 2/- net was declined in one instance for a first-class sample.

The stock market is still devoid of animation, and no business of any moment can be reported. At a clearing sale held at Enfield four-tooth ewes realised 35/2, and two-tooth ewes 33/8, while store lambs were sold at 18/6. Sales by private treaty were few and the numbers small. Dealings in fat animals constituted the bulk of the business. Good fat wethers were sold at 43/6, fat ewes at from 28/6 to 30/- for medium weights and 23/9 for light. No business is reported in breeding ewes, and the sales of other descriptions were as follow; Fat and forward lambs, 23/9; forward lambs, 21/-; store two-tooth wethers, 22/-; store full-mouthed wethers, 24/-. Very little business has been done in cattle; some fat heifers were sold at £7 10/-, and steers at £7 15/-. A line of mixed-sex stores, 21 years old, changed hands at £6. At a recent clearing sale dairy' cows were sold at from £S to £l2, and a line of 10 were placed privately at £lO 5/- per head. FOREIGN EXCHANGE.
