The passing of one of Auckland’s oldest relics began last week, says the .tiir, when Acacia Cottage, the former home of Sir John Logan Campbell was dismantled. The old grey weatherboard structure dates back to the days when Auckland was sylvan and the waters of the Waitemala lapped the beach where now rise stately warehouse and busy shop. The building is being taken down piece by piece for removal to its future home in Cornwall Park, where it vrill remind the future citizen of the early days and the generous giver of the park.
