LYTTELTON HARBOUR
OFFICIALS’ SALARIES RAISED. {Special to the Times). CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 9. General increases in the salaries of its employees were approved by the Lyttelton Harbour Hoard this morning. The Harbour Improvement Committee, which consists of the whole Board sitting in committee, recommended that the salaries of the employees receiving up to £2OO per annum be increased by 121 per cent., that the salaries of employees receiving over £2OO and up to £4OO he increased by 10 per cent., that the salary of Captain A. 11. Thorpe, harbourmaster and chief pilot, he increased to £(150 per annum, that the salaries of Captain T. M. Hunter (first pilot; and Captain J. F. Crawford (second pilot.) be increased to £.j.jO and £doo per annum respectively, and that the s;darie.s of employees not otherwise dealt with he increased by 10 per cent, on the first £4OO of their salary. The committee's recommendation was adopted.
