NEW ZEALAND PREFERRED TO AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph.--Press Assn. —Copyright.) (United Service.) LONDON, June 9. (Received June 31, 1 a.m.) The position of Governor-General of Australia was not offered to Sir William Birdwoed. Lord Jellicoe bad the choice of New Zealand or Australia, and sclented the former, stating that “Australia requires a man richer I’.'an me.”
