PRINCE OF WALES
ANOTHER SPIN AT CAULFIELD. ROMAN CATHOLIC WELCOME. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MELBOURNE, June 10. The Prince again enjoyed a spin round the Caulticld track, jumping more hurdles. He wound up his morning exercise by circling the tan with two others, emerging victorious from a sprint at the finish. A statement has been issued by Bishop Phelan explaining that the Apostolic delegate is hastening from the north-west of Australia to meet the Prince at Sydney or Brisbane, to speak in the name of the Roman Catholics of the Commonwealth. With reference to the Apostolic delegate’s meeting the Prince, it is slated that this is the outcome of comment, upon the apparent aloofness of Roman Catholic associations in welcoming and honouring the Prince. Dr Phelan, who is Bishop of Sale, explains that when the matter was considered this was regarded as the best way Catholics could officially be represented. The church’s idea of government was unity, and that its official head should voice the sentiments of all its organisations.
