THE MACKAY CASE
CHIEF JUSTICE MLSREPORTED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 9. A telegram from Wanganui reporting the Chief Justice’s remarks in sentencing Mackay made him say that it was an impulsive \ act, and he is so reported in one of the 1 Wanganui papers, but not in the other. His J Honour wishes to say that what he really j said was that it was not an impulsive act, i basing his opinion on the *fact that Mackay had placed the pistol in Cresswell's hand after he shot him.
