INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION

GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE REFUSED. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 9. At a meeting of the committee of the proposed Industrial Exhibition, a communicatioa was received from the Prime Minister stating that the Government, after giving full consideration to the proposal, could take no action at present in the matter of assisting the exhibition. It ws; decided to send copies of the Prime Minister’s letter to the committees in other centres, asking if they wees in favour of meeting the Christchurch delegates in Wellington to consider the Government’s attitude and approach the Government in the matter.
