A HELPLESS STEAMER

(Received June S, 0.25 p.m.) Captain Ryan, of the steamer Whangapc, on arrival at Newcastle, stated that he was asked fur assistance by the Havre, but as lie was himself short of coal owing to the delayed passage caused by heavy weather, lie could not render her any help. At the lime a heavy' gale was blowing from the southwest. NO NEWS OF THE HAVRE. SYDNEY, June 8. (Received June 9, 1.5 a.m.) There are no further news of the steamer Havre.
