MEIJSOURNE, June 7
The Prince of Wales concluded his public engagements in Victoria on Saturday after attending the races, where he backed several horses, but failed to pick a winner. Ho later attended special theatre performances. At. both functions he was the recipient of enthusiastic demonstrations, • Pending his departure to fill his New South Wales engagements, he will spend a week in retirement. PRINCE’S MOVEMENTS NOT DISCLOSED. MELBOURNE, June 7. (Received June 7, 11.50 p.m.) The Prince of Wales attended Flcmington in mufti, shunning the Royal box, and viewing the races from the committee stand. During the respite from public functions the closest secrecy is being observed regarding his movements. His Royal Highness is sjwnding most of his time at Federal Government House in athletic exercise.
