SUPREME COURT

AN APPEAL CASE. The local sittings of the Supreme Court concluded yesterday', when Llis Honour, Mr Justice Sim was occupied in hearing an appeal by Gerald Brick (Mr W. MacalisterJ from the decision of the Magistrate in an affiliation case. Mr Haggitt represented the respondent, a single woman, 20 years of age. The appeal was based on the contention that the evidence of the respondent was incredible and that the evidence lacked corroboration. After hearing many witnesses and legal argument, His Honour stated that he could see no reason for upsetting the Magistrate’s decision. The appeal would be dismissed. Solicitors’ costs were fixed at £lO 10s and it was arranged that other costs and disbursements should be fixed by the Registrar.
