SMALLPOX

NO CASES YESTERDAY. Yesterday passed without any fresh cases of smallpox being notified to the Health Authorit'cs. The doctors were very busy, however, attending to people who wished to take (he precaution of being vaccinated and if is estimated (hat the public vaccinators, Dr Ritchie and Dr McCaw, have averaged 300 vaccinations daily in addition to the large number being done by the other local doctors. Dr Tiitcliie, by the courtesy of Messrs .1. 11. Kirk and Co., has secured the use of a room opposite Dr McCaw’s residence in order to cope with the large number of people reporting. On Monday a start will probably be made with the vaccination of school children, an undertaking which will probably take most of the -week to accomplish.
