The Prime Minister stated at Wanganui: “A number of statements have been made recently about a probable increase in the retail price of butter. In order to allay anxiety on this point, I may say that the Government has in hand arrangements for ensuring supplies of butter for several months ahead at a price to the consumer which will, at the most, bo only very slightly in excess of the present controlled price.”
