A RESERVED SECTION. TIMARU, June 2. An incident in connection with the land ballot yesterday for the Lambrook settlement caused much dissatisfaction. For lot 2, 383 acres, there were a good many applicanto, including several from Christchurch, and surprise was caused by the announcement, when the lot was called for ballot, that it was reserved for a son of the vendor, a returned soldier. Protest was made at once and at a meeting after the ballot that the reservation was not made till the last moment, and men had been put to the expense of applying for it.
