(Received May 31, 0.15 p.m.i It is announced that the authorities have promised further inquiry into the Jcrgcr case pending deportation. It is now ascertained that lather .ierger’s internment was the outcome of alleged disloyal utterances. Strong protests against these utterances, including some from members of Jerger s own Church, led the authorities to take action. 'lhc whole incident is causing an unusually widespread revival of bitter sectuiianism combined with fervid loyalist!!.
